Zuru X-Shot Longshot Deep Analysis

The Xuru X-Shot Longshot has become a really popular blaster in the Nerf community. We take a look at how to get the biggest bang for your buck with this blaster.

Stock

Out of the box, you see around ~130-150 FPS performance. With the darts it comes with and new Worker Gen3+ (High End) darts, you range from ~130-150 FPS. 

Stock Specs:

Barrel: 13.5 inch length. 0.535″ diameter. Pretty loose considering a default Caliburn has a 0.527″⌀ barrel and upgrading to a tighter barrel such as 0.511″⌀ or 0.509″⌀ is common

Spring: ~ 3kg. 25mm OD. 21mm ID. 5-1/8″ (132mm) Overall Relaxed Length. ___ Compressed Length. Blaster has room for a ____ Relaxed length and ____ Compressed Length spring. The spring guide on the inside of the Longshot is 20.5mm Diameter.

Seal: Stock seal is ~2 seconds depending on tolerances of stock plastic parts and lubrication of o-rings. Some blasters have a “perfect” seal out of the box while others have less than ~1 second seal.

Plunger Tube: The default plunger tube is a plastic tube. ~39.5mm ID and 41.5mm OD. The stock plunger tube has been known to crack under prolonged stress which can drop performance or make the blaster unusable entirely depending on severity of crack.

O-Rings: There are many o-rings on the blaster. 6 in total on the Plunger Head, 2 on the Plunger/Barrel Seal, Redirect Main Seal, Redirect/Barrel Seal, Pusher/Redirect Seal.

Performance: ~130-150 FPS. Decent accuracy with included SCAR, but fairly bad with default barrel and no SCAR.

Worker Gen3+ (High End) Darts: 141.8, 144.5, 145.2, 149.8, 153.8, 147.1, 148.8, 142.3, 146.4, 146.2. AVG: 146.59. STDEV: 3.5.

Mod Options:

Turf 5kg, 8kg, 16kg, and 18.5kg springs are too wide to fit the Zuru X-Shot Longshot.
