From the viewpoint of a very skeptical individual who is incredibly frugal, let me just say that if you are half contemplating buying a ST or are just curious as to what it feels like to hold this thing; I can summarize this review in two words. Buy one.

The lead time can seem daunting; waiting a couple of months to get a custom blaster such as this can seem agonizing but the results speak for themselves. The Spring thunder is an incredibly well built blaster with a weight that feels realistic to an 870. For two years I kept reading reviews, watching videos on YouTube and contemplating purchasing one of these, the only regret I have is not having bought one sooner. I would highly recommend this if you are considering obtaining a high end blaster and would strongly encourage you to give Frontline a chance. The Chimera which I purchased earlier this year has cycled approx. 1,000 darts and has been easily modified and maintained and is still barely showing signs of wear. As skeptical as I was browsing for custom blasters earlier this year I am already in the process of looking into an FDL or perhaps a Woozi. If you have any questions about lead times, production or options for your build, the staff from frontline are very knowledgeable and typically reply day of. With the recent addition of the ST color configurator, creating your build to your exact specification takes the guesswork out of what it may look like and what it WILL look like. I would highly recommend watching the assembly guide for the ST regardless of purchasing an assembled blaster or a DIY kit.

To summarize the ST however, it is by far and a way much better than you expect it to be.

I have used this in many nerf wars and I love this shotgun so much. It can compete with my friend’s modded Strongarm (range wise and multi-hit wise), and it is totally customizable. I used friends, and plan on purchasing one myself. My only complaint is that the tip isn’t orange, you have to by that for $4+. And it’s a little pricy. But it is totally worth it. If you aren’t convinced, watch some reviews on youtube, namely Coop772 and LordDraconical. Great job gdop!

This thing is pretty pog. By that I mean even though it took almost 3 months to get here (ordered Dec 17,2020) it was well worth the wait. Shell loading is pretty easy, sometimes it gets a bit stuck if you don’t push it in all the way. The shell ejecting is the best part, though I’m left handed so they don’t get very far before hitting me.

    10/10 blaster

  5. firelordcruz (verified owner)

The spring thunder is an awesome blaster, the shell ejecting is the best part.

    Awesome

  7. Lester (verified owner)

Derrikk and William were super friendly and prompt with answering my questions about this blaster and customer service overall. This blaster is amazing! Better than it looks and super fun to play with the shell loading, priming, and ejecting mechanisms. The prime is a bit heavy, but holy smokes this blaster delivers!!! GDop26 did an amazing job designing this blaster and the crew at Frontline did an equally amazing job printing and assembling it.

As rob201 said above, the Spring Thunder is far and away much better than you expect it to be.

I love this thing. It is so much fun to plink with. I haven’t taken it to a war yet, but I plan on taking it to Ragnaroktoberfest 2022. I haven’t done any range or fps checks yet, but I would guess it shoots maybe ~110 with single af pro half lengths (based on how much I can feel it). However, I do have a few minor complaints. I think there should be a left-handed option. I am right-handed, but I do sometimes use my left hand. I can’t do that too well with this. The white pvc is not painted. You can just turn the pvc so you can’t see the text, but still something of note. As you could expect from a K26 powered blaster, it is a little difficult to prime, but you get used to it. However, my biggest complaint is the two screw holes in the back of the grip. Combined with the stiff prime, it really digs into the webbing between your thumb and pointer finger. Overall, this thing is awesome. So far, I haven’t had any major issues and it works perfectly.

Haven’t had any major issues and I’ve already used it in nerf wars! Was a bit concerned cause of all the bad press I’ve heard but my baby arrived healthy as a babe

great blaster, excellent customer support. just amazing

  11. Jeremy Rivera (verified owner)

This shotgun is the BEST shotgun out there. I loved everything about it!!! And you have so many different ways to customize and make it look even better!! Thank you Frontline!

I have seen this for a year, and I finally gave in. I thought, ‘if I’m gonna spend that much, I might as well get everything I want.’ Top rails (I heard it stiffens the spine), large pump and vector stock (I’m a full grown man-child), bandolier, and match saver.

And I waited. It showed up in less than a month, ready to go. It’s pretty. Feels good (albeit that 3D print texture is a little weird). Racks smoothly, loads well. Only jams so far were my mistakes. I cut down a couple dozen mega darts to fit in the shells, loaded them and took a casual aim. The mega darts whistled. They hurtled with nerfly accuracy. They plunked nicely. The racking of each round was a delight.

Well worth the money – even if 4+1 is all it will hold. Don’t let THAT stop you.

My only regret is not buying enough shells – and I bought 20.

Someone got a rough cut and said to themselves “this isn’t shotgun enough”. The spring thunder is not for the faint of heart, for not only is it more difficult to cock than other blasters, but it also shoots a hell of a lot harder. The guys at my shop are blown away by how powerful this thing is, and that is really what satisfied me after all that money and time. Thank you frontline, I’ll see if there are anymore goochie blasters that peak my interest.

  14. Amelia Peterson (verified owner)

The blaster preforms great, there was a small problem with the catch but I took it to the shop and you guys fixed it for free in minutes

  15. Frank Dimuccio (verified owner)

    I love my spring thunder.
I have printed a few mega shells and some.boomco flechette shells. It is a little bit iffy about advancing shells sometimes.
    Just cock it again. Lol

This blaster was my first 3D printed blaster, and as far as I can tell, it works like a charm. It is, however, a bit on the loud side whenever it shoots. I’ve disassembled and re-assembled it a few times already, so I suppose that that’s normal.

Over time, I’ve had to replace a few parts since some broke, but it was intuitive enough to find the issue after some research. I would have loved more customization options like barrels and such, although I do love the blue mine came in.

I want to say I am very very happy with my experience with Frontline Foam. I initially had an issue with my son breaking a small plastic piece I don’t know how but I was able to quickly get help and replace the piece. I was unable to install myself so I sent the whole gun off back to frontline foam. They fixed it and we have not had problems since. Even 1 year later they reached out to see how I was doing. The service on this company is insanely good and rare these days. I run a company with 20 employees and strive to be like these guys!

    Hey guys,

Thanks for the follow up, the spring thunder looks fantastic and I was eager to get my hands on it, however mine was seized and destroyed in customs, and I got a visit from several of our boarder force officers. Oh well.

I am NOT looking for any kind of refund, I knew the that the risk was there and look like I drew the short straw. As you are asking for feedback I would suggest you warn future Australian buyers that nothing is guaranteed, our countries laws are very strict when it comes to shipping nerf guns into the country.

In saying that, my order from you guys and my questions were all handled very professionally and you guys are offering a great service and would happily recommend you to other non-AUS friends.

    Many thanks.

The spring thunder is amazing and the prime on it is so clean for a 3D print. The parts give a nice aesthetic look both on color and shroud. Highly recommend any one looking for there first shell ejecting blaster (highly customizable) because 1 the quality of the product is there, 2 the functionality of a clean prime makes for great gameplay and 3 the details on the blaster are on point. If you’re looking for sturdy and reliable this is it. 5 stars to Frontline Foam and its team.
